Timers and breaks

A good break screen is an act of hospitality.

A break always feels longer when nobody knows whether it will be two minutes or twenty. A visible timer answers that question without making you announce it three times.

Choose the timer that matches the moment

Use full screen when the pause is the point

The big timer is for a proper break: coffee, a room reset, or a transition between sections. It fills the display, which gives the room permission to look away for a moment.

Use compact when the work stays visible

The small timer belongs in a quiz, a reflection prompt or an activity where the slide still matters. Place it in a quiet corner and resize it until it supports the task instead of competing with it.

Set it before you need it

Pick a preset or custom duration during setup. TeacherPalette remembers the compact timer’s size and position, so a timer that worked for one class can be ready in the same place for the next one. The chime at zero gives you a natural cue to return.

Move the compact timer by its background, then resize it from the lower-right handle.
