Pre-presentation checklist

Seven quiet checks before the room arrives.

The goal of a pre-show check is not perfection. It is to make the first minute feel unhurried, so you can give your attention to people instead of your controls.

  1. Put your colors in order. Add the pen, highlighter and emphasis colors you will use to Favorites.
  2. Confirm the audience display. Make sure your drawing surface is on the screen people will actually see.
  3. Set Spotlight for today’s material. A dense product demo may need a larger, brighter cue than a quiet slide deck.
  4. Check Magnifier with the smallest text. Set Reading mode before the tiny label appears in front of everyone.
  5. Prepare the break timer. If you know a pause is coming, make it one click away.
  6. Open Command Palette once. A ten-second refresher prevents a visible search later.
  7. Open Whiteboard on a clean page. Yesterday’s notes should not become today’s first slide.

Set attention tools before sharing, when you still have room to think.
