Built for explaining

If you are looking for a Presentify alternative, start with the session you want to deliver. Do you need a few marks over an app, or will you also enlarge a detail, sketch an idea on a fresh page, and leave students with an annotated PDF?

TeacherPalette is designed around that wider flow. Beyond Annotation. Presence. Here, presence means making your explanation easy to follow: direct attention, reveal a detail, build the idea, and keep a useful copy.

  1. Screen AnnotationCircle a value, underline a phrase, or connect ideas over the app you are showing.
  2. Spotlight / MagnifierFocus the audience on one area or enlarge a detail they need to read.
  3. WhiteboardGive a worked example its own page, then add another as the explanation grows.
  4. PDF workflowImport your material into Whiteboard, annotate page by page, and export your work as a PDF.

This workflow fits teachers, technical instructors, presenters, trainers, developers creating tutorials, and online educators who regularly explain material on screen.

Compare the workflow you need

When choosing between TeacherPalette and Presentify, try the same short explanation in each tool: mark a slide, navigate an app, make a small detail readable, and work through a question. Notice how comfortably you can move between those tasks.

The table below describes TeacherPalette’s tools and what to evaluate in your own session. For Presentify’s current features, pricing and policies, consult its official listing before deciding.

TeacherPalette is not only for drawing on your screen. It is designed around the full flow of explaining something. If your session stops at a quick arrow, evaluate that simple task first; if it grows into diagrams and documents, include those steps in your trial.

Built by an instructor, for explaining

Kim, TeacherPalette’s solo developer, is a technical instructor who spends a lot of time explaining things on screen. He wanted a lightweight toolkit he could open anywhere on his Mac, with Whiteboards he could reuse and tools shaped around real presentations. TeacherPalette grew out of that need.

Try it with a real explanation

Use a slide, a live app and a PDF from your next session. Draw one clear mark, bring a small detail closer, then move to Whiteboard for a question that needs more room. That rehearsal will tell you more about fit than a long list of features.

TeacherPalette requires macOS 15 or later and Apple Silicon. The 7-day free trial is available to new subscribers; review the subscription terms in the App Store before starting.
